NHS and Private Prescriptions


We will dispense NHS and private prescriptions, we will aim to offer a prompt and efficient service.


NHS Pharmacy First Scheme


Our Pharmacist can supply prescription-only medication, including antibiotics, where clinically appropriate to treat seven common health conditions without the need to visit a GP. The conditions include:


Sinusitis

Sore Throat

Earache

Infected insect bites

Impetigo

Shingles

Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTI) in women


NHS Minor Ailment Scheme


The Minor Ailment Service is an NHS service for children, people aged 60 or over, people who hold a medical  exemption certificate and people on certain benefits. Your Pharmacist can give you medication, if they feel you need it, for some of the following conditions:


Conjunctivitis, acne, athlete's foot, backache, cold sores, coughs, constipation, diarrhoea, eczema, haemorrhoids, hay fever, head lice, period pains and many more ailments.


Come in and ask for information.


Blood Pressure Checks

Call into the pharmacy today to get your blood pressure checked if you are:

  • are aged 40 or over
  • live in England

You cannot get a free blood pressure check if you:

  • already have high blood pressure
  • have had your blood pressure checked by a healthcare professional in the past 6 months


Free NHS Health Checks

Call into the pharmacy today to get your health check if you are aged 40 - 74 and do not have any of these pre-existing conditions:

  • Heart disease 
  • Chronic kidney disease 
  • Diabetes 
  • High blood pressure (hypertension) 
  • Atrial fibrillation 
  • Transient ischaemic attack (also known as a mini-stroke) 
  • Inherited high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolemia) 
  • Heart failure 
  • Peripheral arterial disease 
  • Stroke 
  • Currently being prescribed statins to lower cholesterol 
  • Previous checks have found that you have a 20% or higher risk of getting cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years 



Oral Contraceptive Pill

A pharmacist may be able to supply the contraceptive pill if you need to:

  • start using the contraceptive pill for the first time
  • start the contraceptive pill again after a break from taking it
  • get a supply of the contraceptive pill if it’s already been prescribed to you

If the pharmacist gives you the contraceptive pill they will share this information with your GP if you give permission for them to do so.


Home Delivery


We offer a FREE home delivery service for those who need it. 


We even help to save the planet as our delivery car is fully electric.


Disposal of Unwanted Medicine


If you have old medicines, these can be returned to any pharmacy, including ourselves.


Health Advice


We can provide you with a range of information on healthy living and will be happy to provide you with the advice needed to keep you healthy.  If you need help, just ask one of the team or contact us through the website.


New Medicines Service


If you are prescribed a new medication, our team will make sure that you have all the information you need and be available to answer any questinos you may have.


Dossett Boxes and Compliance Aids


We can provide your medication in dossett boxes and with reminder cards to help you to remember to take your medication.  This service is for eligible paitents, please ask one of the team for information.
